Biology - Bachelor of Science

College of Arts and Sciences

A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in biology from Creighton University will prepare you to follow your passions wherever they lead—medicine, biotechnology, research, education, environmental fields and so much more.

Whether you go on to graduate or professional school or begin an exciting career upon graduation, you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable research experience as an undergraduate. Working with a faculty mentor, you could earn research credit in a variety of ways, including research projects in the College of Arts and Science and affiliated with:

  • The Boys Town National Research Hospital
  • Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, and much more
  • Creighton University’s health professions schools

At Creighton, you’ll not only gain the analytical, investigative and communications skills needed in the field of biology, but the ability to effectively respond to moral and ethical issues with biological dimensions.

Consider a major or minor in biology at Creighton if you are curious about the natural world, are interested in health or environmental issues and enjoy learning how living systems function and interact.

Minor in Biology
If you’re interested in supplementing another degree program with knowledge of biology, consider the minor in biology. You’ll take two General Biology courses, and the rest of the minor offers some flexibility to focus on your areas of interest. You can explore many life science topics in upper division courses at the cellular and molecular, organismal, and ecological and evolutionary biology levels.
